CRIMINAL CASES

• 61 % of criminal proceedings against my clients were closed (for example: criminal case against my client under 171 of the Criminal code was terminated and as the result my client became a witness of criminal case);
• 75 % of criminal cases against my clients were re-qualified to more “soft” article or part of the article (for example: there was re-qualification of the client’s act from part 3 article 328 of the Criminal code to part 2 article 328 of the Criminal Code);
• 37 % of my clients were excluded from criminal responsibility and they were applied administrative penalties (for example: the criminal case under article 242 of the Criminal code was terminated, the person was brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine);
• 61 % of clients were excluded from criminal responsibility because of reconciliation with the victim (the person was charged under part 1 of article 149 of the Criminal Code, the person was released from criminal liability on the basis of article 89 of the Criminal Code);
• 81 % of my cases clients’ sentence was reduced on appeal (for example: under part 4 article 209 of the Criminal Code the term of imprisonment was reduced from 7 to 3 years).

In a criminal case a criminal lawyer participates as:

• Counsel for the convicted man;
• Witness’s lawyer;
• Representative of the victim.
